Picking Less Than Allocated
In this section we will go over what happens when you try to pick less than what the order said was allocated.
Picking your Order

While in the middle of picking your order you notice the system tells you it’s allocated X qty, but in reality you’ve only found so much of that item that you’re not able to pick the full amount it’s saying it allocated.
- You’ll also notice the Qty Picked box is orange if you’ve picked less than allocated.

Still continue to mark down what you’ve actually picked and select a holding bin location for it as well.

Once you then try and hit “Post” > “Picked” the system will populate a message asking what to do with the qty you did not pick.

You now have 3 options here. If you leave the “Update” box checked it will put the qty you did not pick into the Suspect On Hand queue for you to decide and find if the item was damaged or missing.

The next option would be to have nothing checked off which means the item will be processed again and allocated once backorders are processed.

The last option would be to check off the box “Manual Back Order in a new line”. This means it will add the item again to the order on it’s own line with the qty that was not picked on backorder. You’ll then have to process the item and allocate it when you process backorders and create its own separate shipper (or eventually merge them together depending on the situation).

Once you’ve done this selection the order will be flagged as picked and now you’ve picked less than what was initially allocated.
